In response to the growing pandemic of COVID-19 cases in Male city. NEOC centres Dr Sheena Moosa has stated they do not have the capacity to provide care for everyone.
According to a press conference held last night Dr. Sheena Moosa warned if the spread of the diseases rapidly grows the rate of admission would be more. Then admission becoming more important and we have to carefully evaluate how much capacity we have. Based on the following Dr. Sheena said we don’t have enough to provide care in our system if the cases start to raise up. In reference to the estimate studies Dr. Sheena warned over 97,000 people may contract the virus in the Maldives even with strick measure in place.
Dr. Sheena also highlighted with the rate of infection on the raise in the past days we could see a grow within 10 days. To take precautions from the following due to limited capacity.
As the first case in Male’ tested positive this week the government has placed 24 hrs lock down and later revised to 14 days lock down period as more number of cases to start to show up.
