A new set repatriation flights have been confirmed to arrive today and tomorrow. According to sources the flights would be arriving to repatriate tourist and migrant workers back to there home countries. As International flight operations has come to a halt many have been left stranded in the Maldives due to COVID-19 outbreak.
According to tourism ministry reparation flights are scheduled arrive today and tomorrow via Colombo and Manila. The flights which scheduled to arrive includes Italian Neo’s Airlines – NO 213 and Indonesian Garuda Airlines – GA 9820 which would be arriving today. While Philippines Airlines – PR 8708 would arrive tommmrow via Manila.
In response to these flights arrivals Tourism Ministry, Foreign Ministry and Tourist police would working together in a joint effort to help repatriate all tourist and migrant workers. The government has noted that police vehicles would be only permitted to carry respective location to the airport in greater Male’ area.
Furthermore government have also requested resorts, guest house and atoll councils to assist in sending all tourist and migrant workers for these repatriation flights.
