
Maldives first COVID-19 cases was confirmed in Kuredu Island Resort. Since then resort has been placed on under monitoring status with code orange given by HPA.
As the first positive case for Kuredu Island Resort was a doctor. According to news sources the doctor contracted the virus from an Italian guest whom after departure tested positive for COVID-19.
Even though this maybe the case. All resort was given release after 14 days quarantine. But HPA has not given Kuredu Island Resort staff release to leave the island. Instead requested staff to provide sample to do testing.
Since then all staff has been stuck on the island and no release for the past 50 days. The resort staff are concerned that they are not being allowed to go back home even after completing required quarantine period. The resort staff hope they would be able go home soon.
