On Thursday, People National Congress (PNC) leader Abdul Raheem Abdulla has stated that government negligence had lead to this situation.
Speaking at a press conference held via online, PNC president has said that the government is not prepared at all and carelessness from the government has left all Maldivians in danger.
He further pointed out the COVID-19 situation must solely be bared by the President himself and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih cannot run away from this responsibility. Furthermore, he said if the president cannot take responsibility he should resign.
In the press conference, he also spoke on the current situation of HPA. He claimed HPA is currently being controlled by the president’s office and all testing is done according to there instructions. He also further claimed that the government only tests people whom are close to them.
As the current situation of COVID-19 grows more number of cases are being reported each day with 1 death thus far.
