
Authorities on Saturday has announced that they would be quarantining all migrant worker in Greater Male’ region whom are vulnerable to get infected with the virus.
The order comes from the Director-General of Public Health, Maimoona Aboobakuru. She has stated that rapid growth in cases amongst migrant workers is high due to this it’s important to impose the following measures. In regards to following the guidelines of migrant workers are set to be quarantined:
• Migrant workers whom have no established accommodation or employment.
• Migrant workers living in monitored addresses.
• Migrant workers whom are most valuable category
• Migrant workers whom came in contact with primary and secondary with infected patients.
Maldives have a densely large population of migrant workers. Many of these migrant workers take up the large migrant workers population. There are also large migrant population that are already infected with COVID-19.
