Maavah constituency MP Mohamed Saeed stated that he resubmit the COVID-19 aid bill once again.
According to the parliament speaker, Mohamed Nasheed the bill was not allowed to go forward due as the bill contained expense and revenue of the government. He pointed out that the government would be the authority to submit such expense and revenue bills to Parliament. This is why the bill would not be moving forward in the parliament.
Despite the bill been thrown out by Parliament the MP has said that he would resubmit the bill again during Monday’s parliament meeting. He also stated that he is looking into reforming the bill and he is working to make changes in the bill after consultation from various sources.
He also stated that he is well aware that MDP MP’s would oppose the bill but yet he had stated that he would resubmit the bill again.
MP Saeed is one of the strongest and well knowledge MP’s in the Majlis with years of experience as the economic minister.
