Indian Navy ship arrives with 580 tones food aid

Indian Navy ship INS Kesari arrives with donated food supplies to the Maldives as a part of its ongoing assistance to the island nation in response efforts against COVID-19.

The food aid was carried as a mission under the name of “Mission SAGAR”. Under Misson SAGAR the navy ship would be also travelling to Mauritius, Seychelles, Comoros and Madagascar to provide the food aid under the mission

The following food aid that has arrived to Maldives includes:

  • Parboiled Rice: 200 tons
  • Wheat Flour: 140 tons
  • Sugar: 90 tons
  • Yellow Dal: 120 tons
  • Onions: 26 tons
  • Potatoes: 14 tons

According to the Indian High Commission has stated that the food donation is provided as a gift by the people of India.
