Elderly prison inmate dies in Hulhumale’ Prison.

The announcement was made by Commissioner of Prisons, Ahmed Mohamed via twitter. His tweet mentions the man was bedridden 92 year old man and he passed while serving his sentence.

He also stated that Human Rights Commission Maldives (HRCM) and Maldives Police Services (MPS) has been informed according to protocol.

A bedridden 92y old inmate who was serving his sentence at hulhumale prison was passed away tonight.

May Allah bless his soul and forgive his sins. Ameen

As per the protocol HRCM, Police & Inspectorate were informed of this death.
