
Indian Navy ship (INS Jalashwa) has departed the Maldives with 588 Indian nationals this Friday.
INS Jalashwa is the second trip Indian navy ship carrying Indian nationals back home. This is the third evacuation voyage from the Maldives. INS Jalashwa had previously taken 698 Indians back to home while INS Magar left with 202 passenger on Sunday.
The high commission has noted there are Indians whom wish to return home due to COVID-19 and the high commission is working very closely with the Maldivian government on the evacuation.
INS Jalashwa is carrying residents of the State of Kerala, Union Territory of Lakshadweep and Cochin on this second evaluation voyage.
Government of India has commenced the largest reparation program during this coronavirus to evacuate stranded Indians across the world.
