
Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer speaking at a press conference today has made a decision to impose pay cuts to several public servants expect frontline workers whom are battling against the COVID-19.
Ameer has said that employees at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), employees of health protection agency (HPA), employees of the health centers and hospitals would be excepted from the pay cuts.
However pay cuts would be imposed presidential appointees, employees of Maldives Police Service, employees of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), and employees of the National Emergency Operations Center who work more than six-hour shifts were exempt from the pay cuts.
