Maldives Police Service on Saturday has released the identity of the man whom suspected of rapist 11 year old girl in a guest house in Male’ city.
The man is relieved to be Anees Hilmy, 38, from Silsilaage in H. A. Baarah. The case was reported to police on Wednesday afternoon and Anees was arrested in his residence approximately 10:14 pm on Friday.
The police investigation has found evidence Anees had groomed his 11-year-old victims prior to rape.
Currently, the case is under investigation by the Family and Child Protection Department as a high-priority case along with other relevant State agencies to provide the victim support and protection.
