198 Indian’s repatriated in INS Airavat

Indian Navy has repatriated more than 198 Indian nationals from the Maldives.

The group departed on Sunday evening via Indian navy ship INS Airavat which would be heading to Tuticorin. The repatriation operation is conducted under “Operation Samudra Setu” which started in May. This is the biggest operation ever conducted to evacuate stranded aboard.

Over 2,500 Indians has been repatriated from the Maldives due to COVID-19 pandemic.
