
Naavaanavi on Monday morning protested in front of the parliament building with only few protestors.
The protest was carried out under the title “Majlis Heylavaalaa” which means “Wake up Parliament”. According to spokesperson Fathimath Saaira said that protest was being staged to make four demands which include stopping evictions inability, stopping environment damage, providing sufficient funding for the protection of women and children, and expanding income allowance support.
The protest began in front of the Parliament at 8:30 Monday with banners and posters. They were wearing masks and stood apart from each other to maintain physical distancing.
However, the protest was dispersed after and pushed back. They regrouped in front of Hotel Jen after they were dispersed from in front of the Parliament House.
