Former Vice President Adeeb goes free after Criminal Court drop all charges pressed against him by the state.
The court found the seven charges against him are unlawfully.
He was charged with two counts of embezzlement, unlawful influence to obtain an unfair advantage and misusing his official capacity.
Previously police have stated that Adeeb has pleaded guilty to the charges. However, during a court hearing on Sunday, the was former president has stated he was forced to sign a plea agreement by former PG and assistant police commissioner Abdulla Riyaz.
In regard to this, the judge decided that the plea deal was not backed by criminal procedure code and the seven charges against him were brought after the period for charges was brought in the case lapsing meaning that changes were unlawful.
Former President is now declared a free man.
