
The Government of Maldives has declared wearing face mask mandatory for everyone while going into public.
A tweet made on Thursday evening, The President Office said the decision was made after a discussions between President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and members of the National Taskforce on Resilience Building and Economic Recovery.
As the case number increase the government recommend everyone to work on following the social distancing measure and guidelines given by HPA.
However, its is unclear whether mask are mandatory in greater Male’ region or across the Maldives. As recent case that has been identified are being reported outside of Greater Male’ region and mainly found in in residential islands. The Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) has stated that they would be announcing the new guidelines very soon for mandatory mask order during a press conference late Thursday.
