Hithadhoo most secondly populated urban area in the Maldives has been placed under lock down and has been put under monitoring mechanism due to a COVID-19 case been identified in the area .
Health Protection Agency informed Addu City Mayor Abdulla Sodhiq that the island Hithadhoo would be placed under monitoring mechanisms due to the recent virus case found in hithadhoo.
A positive case from Hithadhoo was identified today and it has been notified that the individual is a Bangladeshi national. The worker tested positive after completing mandatory 14-days quarantine period. The testing and treatment was done in Addu Equatorial Hospital.
The order would force everyone to stay in-order and residence to stay inside the home. No one would be allowed to entry to the to the island. The monitoring order has been ordered by the Director-General of Public Health with the health saftey of the country.
It has also been reported that Feydhoo has also found one positive case last night. The positive case of COVID-19 is reported to be a Police Officer and Six other officers whom has come into contact has now been placed isolation.
