The Maldives and India plans to increase the number of flights between both the countries under the air travel bubble established between both nations in previous month.
The Indian High Commission in Male’ has stated that the Maldives is among-st the nine countries that India has air bubble arrangements with and India-Maldives air bubble is first of its kinda in South Asia.
Air bubble was established on August 25 as a weekly Air India Flight to Delhi-Trivandrum-Male’ route. According to high commission the air travel bubble was created to allow Indian tourist to visit Maldives and also allowing mitigate the economic impact faced by COVID-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, the Indian High Commission has noted in addition to that allowing Indian tourist the air bubble was created to support Maldivians seeking medical treatment in India.
Currently the new decision to increase air travel has between India and Maldives comes on October 15 which support the guest house opening dates which would help tourist to provide an alternative option other than resort and liveaboard.
Maldives has note tripled the safety measure to facilitate the following re-opening of guesthouse by mandating negative PCR test result all tourist arrivals.
